Some look at this passage and claim that the true worshippers are those who perform five acts of worship on Sunday. These are:
- Singing.
- Giving.
- Teaching/Preaching.
- Lord's supper.
- Praying.
- "Singing is worship."
- "Giving is worship."
- "Teaching/Preaching is worship."
- "The Lord's supper is worship."
- "Praying is worship."
This means that the Samaritan woman could perform this "true worship" while standing with Jesus.
She did not sing.
She did not make a contribution.
She did not teach Jesus.
She did not partake of the communion.
She did not pray.
So, what was it she could do in that time frame of "and now is" which was "true worship"?
Ray,
ReplyDeleteShe could LOVE! You never know who is reading what you write, but I am encouraged when I find another brother reading past what we have been taught. My own blog became a confession of what I have been through and I hope more can experience the true joy of knowing salvation is not based on how correct we are when we come together on a Sunday morning. Thanks for your comments.
